Are you in unscripted production but desperately seeking a foot in the High-end TV door?
In collaboration with ScreenSkills we have developed the HETV: Building Your Career Portfolio programme to help media professionals move in that exact direction.
Running since May 2023, this programme has provided 24 freelance participants from production and accountancy media backgrounds with fantastic career development opportunities:
- HETV: Building Your Career Portfolio is a hybrid programme incorporating online workshops, one-to-one sessions and live events in an effort to help participants source those HETV opportunities.
- Guests from companies including Lookout Point, World Productions, Tall Story Pictures and Bad Wolf have provided our cohort with insights as to what makes HETV and unscripted projects differ.
- Participants have taken deep dives into HETV studio management dynamics and dramatic script demands. Key networking, presentation and interview needs have been highlighted.
- Financial guidance has been provided alongside information on the budgeting and scheduling needs on HETV dramas.
- The recent Manchester live workshop (June 2023) included fantastic contributions from Screen Manchester, Quay Street Productions and hugely experienced Line Producer Richard Everiss.
- The HETV ScreenSkills Networking Event took place in London (July 2023) and provided participants with the chance to share their details with the industry in their programme brochure and speak to HETV production and finance reps in person about their experiences and expertise.
- Five of our cohort have already successfully acquired HETV roles and many others are doing shadowing work on other HETV projects. They made it happen!
